Holistic Approach

Taking inspiration from the concept of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) propounded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, AASK plans to emerge as a one-stop support centre dedicated to making the youth self-reliant. In tune with the foundational principles of the concept of Atmanirbhar, it aspires to develop as a knowledge and skill hub and a network of experts, stakeholder institutions and to build a support system for small, micro and village enterprises in Odisha and elsewhere. The potential entrepreneurs will be nurtured with appropriate knowledge and skill sets and supported with both forward and backward linkages. AASK also proposes to develop as a Centre of Excellence in Self-reliant mechanism and a resource centre for global and local best practices and provide linkages with CSOS, CBOs, producers’ and farmers’ groups. It will network with all key stakeholders in the area of enterprise and work towards a demand driven market mechanism making optimal use of digital technology.

Handholding Support

At the outset, a database of unemployed youth with the potential to become entrepreneurs will be prepared. A structured workshop will be organized for these youth with the support of the partner CBO/NGO where potential entrepreneurs will be short-listed for the AASK Training & Handholding programme. A detailed profile will be prepared for each of the short-listed potential entrepreneur and a SWOT analysis done. Next, the short-listed candidates will be given an intensive, hands-on, 3-month long training with plenty of field visits for them to acquire first-hand knowledge about their chosen area of enterprise. In the third and final phase lasting 12 to 24 months, all entrepreneurial activities will be regularly monitored and necessary handholding support and mentoring provided to the trainee to turn into an entrepreneur.

Intense Tracking

The trainees are the soul of the whole exercise. We at AASK believe each trainee is unique and his/her requirement is different. Therefore, their grooming will be properly planned taking into account their socio-economic background. To assess individual trainees, a diagnostic study on major aspects of each individual and a SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunities and threats) analysis undertaken to formulate their specific training requirements.
